The Phoenix at Lake Joy is seeking a Activities Director (Program and Outreach Director) to join their team! The Program and Outreach Director reports directly to Executive Director. The Program and Outreach Director is responsible for developing, leading and overseeing a resident centered activities and outreach program that promotes and integrates the Phoenix Senior Living philosophy to incorporate wellness in all aspects of the seniors’ lives we serve. Ensuring all dimensions (emotional, sense of purpose, physical, social, intellectual and spiritual) are incorporated into the services we provide and embrace. Responsibilities include but not limited to assisting in recruiting, hiring and training of the Assistant Program and Outreach Director.

  • Develop, lead and oversee a resident centered activities and outreach program.
  • Ensure all dimensions of wellness are incorporated into the services provided.
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring and training of the Assistant Program and Outreach Director.
  • Participate in the Personalized Service Plans (PSP).
  • Refer to the Resident Profile and addendum for every new resident.
  • Ensure a variety of appropriate and personalized activities are available throughout the day and evening.
  • Maintain the PSL Activity & Program Guidebook and track resident participation in activities.
  • Organize small groups or clubs based on residents' demographic profiles.
  • Recognize changes in resident conditions and take appropriate action.
  • Assist residents to and from activity rooms when necessary.
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of activity and programming supplies.
  • Schedule, communicate, assist with facilitation and record monthly resident Council.
  • Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Administration, Gerontology or related field preferred.
  • 1 – 3 years’ experience in senior living/skilled nursing activity & event planning.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Knowledge and experience in Assisted Living industry and Dementia care preferred.
