The Physical Security Systems Program and Database Integration Specialist supports daily operational execution of physical security technologies by monitoring alarms, maintaining accurate system records, commissioning/testing new devices, and providing first-level troubleshooting for users and technicians. This role supports electronic access control (Feenics), perimeter intrusion detection (Senstar), video surveillance platforms (Hanwha), badge/reader technology (Wavelynx), biometrics (SAFR), and badging operations (ID Producer with DASCOM badge printers).

Requirements

  • Some college or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 1–2+ years of experience in physical security systems support, badging operations, access control administration, help desk, or IT support.
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems and basic networking fundamentals (IP addressing, basic connectivity troubleshooting).
  • Ability to follow established procedures, document work clearly, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical partners.

  • Troubleshooting and Operational Execution: Strong diagnostic approach for multi-domain issues (device vs. network vs. application vs. workstation). Ability to interpret logs/events and translate findings into actionable remediation steps. Comfortable working with vendors and service technicians: reproducing issues, collecting evidence (logs/screenshots/config exports), and validating fixes.
  • Networking / Systems Fundamentals: Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and common dependencies (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewall rules, ports/services). Experience supporting Windows-based environments, including permissions, services, drivers, and basic client/server connectivity checks.
  • Data Quality and Access Integrity: Strong attention to detail managing cardholder/user records, access groups, device inventories, and audit trails. Understanding of least privilege and the importance of accurate access provisioning/deprovisioning.
  • Documentation and Process Discipline: Ability to create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, device naming standards, commissioning checklists, and troubleshooting guides. Experience building and improving request/intake workflows using SharePoint and/or SmartSheet (forms, approvals, tracking, metrics).
  • Professional Skills: Customer service mindset with calm, clear communication during incidents. Strong prioritization and time management in an operational environment. High integrity and discretion when handling sensitive security information.

Responsibilities

  • Alarm monitoring and response: Monitor incoming system/device alarms and events; take appropriate action according to established procedures and escalation paths. Document alarms, actions taken, and outcomes to support continuous improvement and compliance needs.
  • Service coordination and first-level support: Create and manage service requests for faulty field devices; track issues through resolution and provide status updates to stakeholders. Provide first-level troubleshooting for: Field hardware issues (readers, panels, cameras, sensors, connectivity/power symptoms) Client/workstation and application issues (logins, client connectivity, basic configuration checks) Network connectivity symptoms in coordination with local IT teams (LAN/WAN/Extranet) Escalate complex or recurring issues to the Application Administrator and/or vendor support with clear troubleshooting notes.
  • Badging and credential support: Maintain badge printing hardware and provide first-level support for ID badge printing issues (DASCOM printers, drivers, calibration, consumables, connectivity). Assist security operations with credential production and issuance using ID Producer and Wavelynx badge technology, ensuring quality and adherence to policy.
  • System administration and data hygiene: Audit, add, modify, and remove system users/operators based on approved requests and least-privilege principles. Audit, add, modify, and remove field devices and related records; maintain accurate inventories and naming/labeling conventions. Perform routine checks to ensure system records match installed hardware and approved access authorizations.
  • Commissioning and validation: Commission and test newly installed field devices (access control devices, perimeter devices, cameras, biometric endpoints as applicable) to verify: Connectivity and proper enrollment Alarm/event reporting Functional performance aligned to standards Document commissioning results and coordinate follow-up actions with installers and service teams.
  • Cross-coverage and on-call: Provide backup support for Application Administrator tasks during absences/high volume periods, as assigned. Participate in an on-call rotation as required to support critical security system operations (if applicable).
