Project Description: DRT is seeking a Public Management Analyst to support the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Job Summary: Work collaboratively with the government to help deliver IT solutions, assets and IT infrastructure to government and contract employees. Manage small projects and analyze the data to make recommendations to the government. Work with the government to develop, manage, and advertise processes that are related to IT; may involve making recommendations on ways to improve current processes.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience working as a lawyer.

  • Previous experience with CDC programs, policies, procedures, and communication activities preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform legal research using Westlaw or similar legal data bases to identify critical issues impacting STLT public health outcomes
  • Provide data analyses using legal epidemiologic methods to measure a jurisdiction’s laws compared to science-based findings’
  • Draft papers, issue briefs, and presentations that demonstrate the understanding of law as a tool to improve public health outcomes.
  • Develop materials, toolkits, and resources that STLT public health practitioners, their counsel and key stakeholders can use to compare jurisdictional differences in the law that may impact public health outcomes or health department practices.
  • Support the presentation of research, data and findings at relevant conferences and meetings that will benefit the STLT community.
  • Provide technical assistance and participate in site visits to deliver critical training and workforce development related to public health law topics.
  • Participate in the strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of a public health law program that has been demonstrated to provide critical support to STLTs, national non-profit organizations, important community partners, and universities.
