The Program Analyst (Informatics) position at the Department of Veterans Affairs involves managing and analyzing clinical informatics programs and processes. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure effective data management and the optimization of electronic health record systems. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the VISN Chief Nursing Informatics Officer and is responsible for enhancing healthcare capabilities through technology and data integration.

  • Manage, assess, design, integrate, modify, maintain, and analyze programs related to clinical informatics.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders impacting informatics.
  • Coordinate joint federal agency decisions to manage a unified HIT system configuration.
  • Create, integrate, disseminate, and manage data for enterprise applications and ensure timely data delivery.
  • Evaluate content quality and improve information interoperability across the organization.
  • Develop reports and information tools using SQL and SSRS from the VISN 20 and VA corporate data warehouse.
  • Enable healthcare capabilities by developing, implementing, and optimizing informatics tools.
  • Ensure clinical input in the development of VHA business architecture and analyze workflows for improvement opportunities.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the VHA EHR to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Evaluate, document, and prioritize requirements for EHR improvement in collaboration with end-users.
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-11 level in the federal service.
  • Experience in clinical informatics and understanding of biomedical and health informatics methods.
  • Knowledge of data management and clinical decision-making systems.
  • Experience in leading and managing changes associated with clinical information systems.
  • Ability to analyze organizational culture and lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience as a Clinical Applications Coordinator (CAC) using VistA/CPRS.
  • Troubleshooting VistA/CPRS end-user issues and SNO tickets.
  • Creating FileMan or CDW reports.
  • Experience with WebVRAM and NARS.
