About The Position

The West Side Federation for Senior and Supportive Housing, Inc. (WSFSSH) is a community‐based organization whose mission is to provide safe, affordable housing with supportive services within a residential setting which enhances the independence and dignity of each person. WSFSSH develops, manages, and provides housing for low‐ income older persons, many of whom live with mental illness and/or have experienced homelessness.

The multi-site, per diem Program Aide will be responsible for assisting residents on a daily basis with daily living activities.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse environment
• Comfortable working with older adults
• Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
• High school diploma orGED, 4 years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience in lieu of diploma or GED.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working with older adults.
• Ability to stand forlong periodsof time.
• Ability to stoop, bend, reach andlift upto 25 lbs.
• Travel within our sites,and throughout the communityas needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the personal hygiene and physical well-being of the residents
• Assist residents in the dining room, participating in activity programs, and joining in the life of the residence
• Escort residents to medical and other appointments as directed, including visiting residents who are in the hospital
• Travel for errands to stores, clinics, and offices as directed
• Screening visitors
• Answering phone calls
