Requirements

• Ability to organize activities for children ages 5 through 18.
• Good communication skills, including appropriate style, grammar, and tone.

Nice To Haves

• Associate Degree in social services or related field.
• Additional duration of directly-related experience working with youth in an after school program.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, verbal and written.
• Experience with programs serving high-risk youth.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the implementation of scheduled activities and special events for youth programs.
• Lead and supervise small and large groups of children.
• Assist with educational and recreational activities, including games, tutoring, and homework help.
• Maintain a clean and neat facility appearance daily.
• Assist with recruitment, registration, intake, and follow-up services for youth participants.
• Provide supervision of youth at all times, ensuring a safe environment.
• Observe center and program regulations.
• Gather data for reports and grants related to the program.
• Effectively communicate with diverse cultural and ethnic groups.
