About the position

The Program Administrator at Northwestern University's Clinical and Translational Sciences (NUCATS) Institute plays a crucial role in overseeing research staff development programs aimed at enhancing clinical research practices. This position involves managing various educational initiatives, ensuring compliance, and fostering professional growth within the clinical research community. The Program Administrator will interact with students, faculty, and staff, requiring strong interpersonal and organizational skills to effectively lead and manage program operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee research staff development programs including Clinical Research Workforce Excellence (CReWE) and Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) Basic Training.
  • Provide direction and leadership for effective daily management of operational, financial, and business functions of the program.
  • Manage customer service practices and procedures to measure success.
  • Oversee data analysis and recommend changes for improvement.
  • Manage logistics for events, including scheduling and technology requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with agreements between NU and partner institutions.
  • Develop and implement program/project strategic plans and budgets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders to enhance program visibility and support.
  • Oversee evaluation processes to ensure program benchmarks are met.
  • Recruit, hire, and direct instructors/faculty for program offerings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Health Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 4 years of research experience and program/project administration.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Practical project management and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within the research community.

Nice-to-haves

  • Graduate degree in health sciences or business administration preferred.
  • Certification in clinical research through ACRP, SOCRA, etc.
  • Experience in staff education and training activities.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare concepts.
