About The Position

The Department of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center is actively seeking BE/BC Intensivists to join our faculty. Opportunities for clinicians, clinician-educators, and clinician-scientists are available. Candidates must possess outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrate a strong dedication to educating the next generation of clinicians. The ideal candidate will showcase exceptional clinical expertise, an ability to collaborate effectively with physician leaders from various specialties, and the aptitude to implement changes that align with best medical practices, institutional goals, and regulatory requirements. The candidate is expected to provide clinical care in one or more ICUs in the UPMC Health system; and actively participate in the education of fellows, residents, and students. The Department of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking candidates for a clinical position with neurocritical care subspecialty training to meet our department's current strategic needs. This academic appointment will be an appointment stream, commensurate with the applicant's background, academic productivity, and leadership skills. Candidates at the Professor level should have a demonstrated track record of leadership, excellent communication skills, should be board certified in Neurocritical Care, and have obtained an M.D, D.O. degree. About the Department: The Department of Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh is one of the only stand-alone academic departments focusing on critical care medicine in the United States. Along with its clinical partner UPMC, department faculty provide clinical services to critically ill adult and pediatric patients across the 30+ hospital UPMC health system. The Department's research activities span bench-to-bedside-to-population health, supported by over $20 million in NIH funding and two T32 training grants.
