The Division of Social Sciences at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota, invites applicants for a full-time, non-tenure-eligible faculty position as a Professor of Practice in Legal Studies. Candidates should have a JD, at least three years of experience practicing law, and prior experience teaching undergraduate, graduate, or law students. All legal specialties and practice areas will be considered, although preferred consideration may be given to individuals with experience in housing law, family law, or experience with and understanding of legal technology tools and the legal industry’s experience with Artificial Intelligence tools. The successful candidate will teach 7 courses per academic year within the undergraduate and graduate Legal Studies programs, including the Graduate Paralegal Certificate and the Master in the Study of Law. Courses are in person, hybrid, and online in synchronous and asynchronous modalities. Hamline University is located in the heart of the culturally vibrant Minneapolis-Saint Paul area. Legal Studies at Hamline combines a broad interdisciplinary focus with a depth of pre-professional skills needed to work in a variety of law-related fields. Undergraduates enjoy access to multiple opportunities and pathways, including a Law and Society major and a Law School Early Admission program. Graduate programs include a Paralegal Certificate and a Master in the Study of Law. The University serves approximately 1,800 undergraduate students and 800 graduate students.
