About the position

The School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology invites applications from exceptional senior candidates working in the areas of telecommunications and communication networks for the endowed position of the Byers Chair and Georgia Research Alliance (GRA) Eminent Scholar. Applicants should have earned a Ph.D. or equivalent. The school seeks individuals with demonstrated outstanding leadership in research and undergraduate and graduate teaching. Candidates should have an excellent record of scholarship. Of interest are candidates with an established and active record of accomplishment in leading large multi-institution and multi-disciplinary collaborative research efforts and a vision for developing the next generation of communication networks. Responsibilities

  • Lead research in telecommunications and communication networks.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.
  • Develop the next generation of communication networks.
  • Engage in multi-institution and multi-disciplinary collaborative research efforts.

Requirements

  • A Terminal degree (Ph.D. or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated outstanding leadership in research.
  • Excellent record of scholarship.
