About The Position

The University of Miami Health System is initiating a search for a Clinical Assistant/Associate/Professor, Pulmonary Pathologist. This position involves providing patient care services at various locations including UMH (University of Miami Hospital), JMH (Jackson Memorial Hospital), and SCCC (Sylvester Cancer Comprehensive Center). The role includes guiding gross descriptions, taking photographs of specimens, and performing tissue sampling. Additionally, the position requires microscopic examinations of surgical specimens, timely reporting of findings, and verifying coding diagnoses in the computer. The successful candidate will also participate in educational activities for pathology residents and fellows, engage in collaborative research opportunities, and maintain high standards of professional services to uphold departmental accreditation.

Requirements

• MD/DO required.
• Board Certified or Board eligible in Anatomic Pathology or Clinical Pathology.
• Licensed to practice medicine in the State of Florida.
• Strong general knowledge of Surgical Pathology and Pulmonary Pathology.
• Experience with quality improvement methods and tools.
• Knowledge of regulations and standards of JCAHO, CAP, and CLIA.

Nice To Haves

• Additional Board certifications are desirable.
• Knowledge of other Pathology Subspecialties is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care services at UMH, JMH, and SCCC.
