About The Position

We are seeking a qualified Professional Tutor to assist students in the following courses: Life Sciences (Biology, Anatomy & Physiology) Physical Sciences (Chemistry, Physics) This is a part-time, hourly position.

Requirements

• Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in a related field
• A or B+ in the relevant subjects
• 3.25 GPA or higher
• Must be able to work with staff and advise / teach / tutor students from diverse backgrounds; must be sensitive to student needs
• Must have a high level of flexibility and commitment to first-generation, under-resourced, college bound students
• Demonstrate professionalism, creativity, enthusiasm - and encourage student success

Nice To Haves

• Tutoring experience is preferred
• Knowledge of business statistics would be a plus

Responsibilities

• SSS Professional tutors are expected to participate in the overall academic and personal growth and development of participants.
• Provide subject-specific content to help students understand key concepts to improve academic performance.
• Enforce program policies and procedures at all times.
• Work closely with the Tutoring Coordinator to implement policies and procedures.
• Help students with content previously covered in the classroom.
