About The Position

Position Summary: Provide content tutoring in mathematics to a diverse student population with varied academic needs. Primary Responsibilities: Tutor students primarily in algebra through calculus Work with students in person and through online platforms Collaborate with faculty to incorporate course-specific learning outcomes during tutoring sessions Help students identify their own individual strengths and skills in order to make study plans, establish academic goals, and maximize the student's potential Participate in outreach activities and tutoring services Assist in the maintenance and evaluation of tutoring materials and services Collaborate as a team member of the Student Success Center (SSC) Perform other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as assigned

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mathematics required
• Demonstrated commitment to promoting inclusiveness and cultural competence; experience working with underrepresented students and students from at-risk backgrounds
• Experience and understanding of current issues and developments in higher education
• Outstanding verbal, writing, and presentation skills; must be able to communicate and interact effectively with Mount Mary students, employees, and alumnae
• Exceptional ability to multitask and prioritize projects
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duties satisfactorily.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree strongly preferred
• Experience with college level tutoring strongly preferred
• Ability to also tutor statistics strongly preferred
• Comfortable working with students one-on-one, and in small group formats
