About The Position

Are you a Registered Nurse passionate about delivering the best care possible and want to make a difference in the lives of your patients? Join us at UPMC Shadyside as we provide Life Changing Medicine to our community! UPMC Shadyside, a Magnet designated hospital, is currently hiring a Full-Time Registered Nurse to support our Nuclear Cardiology Department. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. No weekends or holidays required. Occasional on-call shift for three hours every other Saturday. About the Department: The Nuclear Cardiology Department is a procedural cardiology environment where nurses collaborate closely with patients, physicians, and technologists across Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and the Central Heart Station. In this role, the nurse provides comprehensive patient care by preparing patients for stress testing and cardiac imaging procedures, conducting pre-procedure phone calls, obtaining medical histories and consents, and establishing IV access. Responsibilities include assisting with nuclear stress and stress echocardiography testing, administering Lexiscan and Dobutamine as indicated, and performing bubble studies for transthoracic echocardiograms. The nurse also supports Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) procedures by administering and monitoring moderate sedation and overseeing patient recovery. Additional duties include monitoring treadmill stress patients, administering medications as needed, and collaborating with physicians to communicate patient status and facilitate any necessary order adjustments.
