About The Position

Join Our Team at UPMC Passavant - McCandless! UPMC is committed to delivering the right care at the right time-every time. Our nurses are vital to that mission, bringing compassion and integrity to every patient interaction. We're hiring a Full-Time Professional Staff Nurse for our 3 Main Med/Surg Unit, a specialized unit caring for adult patients with conditions like COPD, CHF, diabetes, renal issues, and stroke. This unit also serves as the hospital's Stroke Unit, with staff certified in NIHSS.

Requirements

• Zero to one year of experience
• Completion of UPMC student nurse internship or student clinical transitions course at UPMC preferred
• BSN preferred
• Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families
• Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment
• Critical thinking, analytical and problem solving abilities required as related to various aspects of patient care
• Good clinical judgment
• Mobility and visual manual dexterity
• Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting and positioning of patients
