About the Role CaptivateIQ’s Professional Services team delivers high-impact implementations for the world's most complex sales organizations. As our first dedicated Sales Planning Architect, you will elevate our architectural standards, transforming existing playbooks into a global gold standard for territory, quota, and capacity solutions. This is a premier, high-visibility individual contributor role for a technical builder who excels at solving intricate modeling challenges. While you will lead this new domain, you will join a collaborative peer group of Architects specializing in incentive compensation, ensuring you have a deep technical bench for brainstorming and peer reviews. You will serve as the principal authority in the room, navigating ambiguity for global stakeholders and directly shaping our product roadmap.

Requirements

  • Experience: 6+ years in Sales Planning, RevOps, or Incentive Compensation (Consulting or Enterprise Professional Services experience preferred).
  • Domain Expertise: Deep mastery of quota allocation, territory design, and capacity planning methodologies.
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on expertise building complex calculation logic within enterprise platforms (e.g., Anaplan, CaptivateIQ, Xactly, or Varicent).
  • Data Skills: Advanced data modeling ability; comfortable using SQL, spreadsheets, or analytical tools to validate and reconcile complex datasets.
  • Communication: Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and explain technical architecture in simple, business-focused terms.
  • Execution: Track record of leading high-stakes projects, managing technical risk, overseeing UAT, and delivering accurate, explainable solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Architectural Leadership: Elevate existing Sales Planning standards into a "Gold Standard" framework by refining reference architectures and institutionalizing global best practices. Act as the lead expert to drive continuous improvement across the delivery lifecycle, ensuring global teams evolve from baseline execution to specialized technical mastery.
  • Strategic Advisory: Lead discovery workshops with Sales Ops and Finance executives to translate complex sales strategies into scalable, data-driven models.
  • End-to-End Implementation: Own the full lifecycle of our most complex builds, from hands-on configuration of advanced logic to designing auditable, high-performance systems.
  • Data Strategy: Oversee data ingestion and transformation from CRM (Salesforce), HRIS, and ERP systems, ensuring absolute integrity across the planning lifecycle.
  • Product Partnership: Act as a critical bridge to Product and Engineering, surfacing field patterns to influence the evolution of our sales planning features.
  • Team Elevation: Set the bar for technical excellence by mentoring consultants and conducting design reviews to ensure solution hygiene.
