Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required; HVAC-R Technical School Degree preferred.
  • 7 years in the field or 5 years with Certification from a Technical School for external candidates.
  • 3 years as a Certified Technician with completion of OJT & Skills Assessment for internal candidates.
  • Must have a Valid Driver's License and maintain a safe driving record.
  • Must be physically able to walk distances, bench and crouch, climb ladders, work at high elevations and lift/carry objects up to fifty pounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • EPA 608 Universal Certification.
  • Strong leadership skills, communication skills, and business acumen.

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of basic refrigeration and/or knowledge of commercial refrigeration and HVAC.

Responsibilities

  • Development and maintenance of excellent customer relations.
  • Actively pursuing personal development & supporting technician growth and development.
  • Perform survey of new customer sites and assist in quoting service and maintenance.
  • Implement pertinent training and provide opportunities for ongoing professional development for technicians.
  • Coordinate technical support, guidance, and training to service technicians.
  • Champion of change initiatives across the enterprise.
  • Perform prescribed, routine maintenance procedures on supermarket refrigeration system.
  • Manage truck inventory and maintain parts responsibly.
  • Complete necessary documents and electronic communication in a thorough, accurate, professional and timely manner.
  • Demonstrate ability to utilize hand-held device to complete necessary paperwork and invoicing requirements.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and correctly size thermostatic expansion valves.
  • Demonstrate understanding of low/high pressure oil systems and advanced wiring diagrams.
  • Detect and repair leaks on conventional systems and parallel racks.
  • Serve as a mentor to other technicians and lead HVAC/R PM programs.
