About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Rater II to support an innovative precision medicine trial in primary care clinics. This multi-level study aims to improve clinical practices and patient outcomes related to tobacco treatment, including increasing treatment uptake and overall effectiveness. In this role, you will work directly with patients and physicians, playing a key part in implementing and evaluating study procedures. Responsibilities include participant recruitment, obtaining informed consent, and data collection. You will also assist in training clinical and research staff on study protocols. This position offers a dynamic mix of remote and on-site work at our medical center, providing opportunities for hands-on experience in clinical research and patient interaction within a collaborative and mission-driven team.

Requirements

  • Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact confidently and professionally with adults of all ages.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions.
  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
  • Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, Basic Life Support - American Red Cross
  • Relevant Experience (1 Year)
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date
  • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).

Responsibilities

  • Recruits, interviews, screens and schedules subjects for study per protocol.
  • Documents case history, charts and test scores using PC computer systems.
  • Plans and implements study phases, day-to-day in-house and field operations and trouble shoots case processes.
  • Administers/scores tests, prepares/edits progress reports and attends meetings, providing case statistical analysis.
  • May participate in training of Professional Rater I.
  • Monitors and orders supplies necessary for study.
  • Prepares information packets for patients enrolled in study.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
