About The Position

The PRA I is a Full Time, Regular position working Monday-Friday 10am-6pm at Sacred Heart Medical Center Summary: The Professional Radiology Assistant I is responsible for managing the incoming exams from our clients in Medicalis to facilitate a timely and efficient review and report dictation by the radiologist. This position provides administrative support as required to and by the radiologists and our clients. General Description: The Professional Radiology Assistant I must be able to: work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment and in meeting continual deadlines; handle multiple priorities with constant interruptions; be highly organized to meet deadlines. This individual must interact directly with the radiologists, other departments within the Inland Imaging organizations, ordering physicians and their staff and PS read clients and contacts. Excellent written, verbal and personal communication skills while remaining tactful and diplomatic as well as highly confidential as needed are requirements for this position. Decisions regarding daily work priorities and other decisions based on company policies and procedures are to be continually made. This individual is responsible for the processing of incoming phone calls and exams from respective clients in the Medical Imaging field. Assists in the retrieval of radiological records and films as well as maintains integrity of patient records contained within our systems on a daily basis.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required, or AA Degree preferred
  • One year of clerical experience is required
  • Work experience utilizing multiple complex computerized applications
  • Keyboarding and computer skills
  • Valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented; ability to multi-task; organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830-840 to work with children under the age of 16, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adults
  • In order to comply with provisions set forth in Sections 1128 and 1156 of the Social Security Act, all new employees of Inland Imaging Clinical Associates, LLC will be checked against the LIST OF EXCLUDED INDIVIDUALS provided by the Department of Health & Human Services, Office of the Inspector General (OIG). Employees must not be included on this list.
  • Eligible employees must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • AA Degree preferred
  • Two years of medical office experience
  • Anatomy and medical terminology – preferred
  • Understanding of all procedures to be read by radiologist – preferred
  • Experience with the following computer applications is highly desired: Microsoft Office Suite; Medicalis Control Center, Medicalis Operations, Stentor/PACS, Smartsheet, Workday, WebEx; EPIC, Vertex, Powershare, QGenda

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizes all exams appropriately and dispatches as needed to meet designated turnaround times.
  • Facilitates and dispatches referring physician and technologist calls to appropriate radiologists based on sub-specialty.
  • Triages multiple phone calls on multiple phone lines.
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge of all radiologist shift definitions and regional and sub-specialized radiologist groups.
  • Prepares exams for radiologist interpretation: which includes verifying exam, clinical information, contrast, fluoro time and prior studies fields on the online form are completed accurately; ensuring that all current and previous studies are loaded to our PACS system or otherwise documented, exceptions are resolved as necessary, and all pertinent accounts are linked and/or merged.
  • Merges patient accounts in Medicalis Operations and PACS as necessary.
  • Ensures radiologist has all electronic paperwork uploaded to the Patient Summary in Medicalis Control Center and/or PACS as needed for each exam including previous reports, history and physicals and other reports and/or notes as requested by the radiologist.
  • Documents and follows up on all communications on individual exams within Medicalis Control Center as necessary.
  • Adheres to critical test workflows and policies.
  • Monitors, tracks and communicates procedure schedules for the radiologists.
  • Utilizes multiple patient record systems and/or works with ordering provider offices to obtain additional histories and information on exams as needed and requested.
  • Tracks, notates and adds FTE credit for procedures, prelims, meetings, conferences and downtimes for radiologists in Medicalis Control Center.
  • Follows up that addendums are issued as necessary and timely.
  • Monitors and responds to email consistently and proactively.
  • Calls/faxes results to referring physicians as requested.
  • Provides a high level of customer service continuously.
  • Attends meetings as necessary.
  • Orders and stocks beverages for radiologists on site.
  • Ensures cleanliness and tidiness of reading rooms on site daily.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality within the Inland Imaging companies and Inland’s customers.
  • Follows all Health and Safety policies and guidelines of Inland Imaging or its partners depending on work location. Follows all company policies including those regarding harassment, non-retaliation, discrimination, respectful workplace, and related policies. Follows all policies regarding HIPAA, non-disclosure of confidential information and company security.
  • Honest, pleasant manner and good personal hygiene.

  • Quarterly quality assurance meeting attendance is required for this position.
