In 2026, Centennial Olympic Park will take center stage as the home of the FIFA Fan Festival Atlanta, welcoming fans from around the world to celebrate the largest soccer event on the planet. GWCCA will deliver live entertainment, match viewings, and family-friendly activations—right in the heart of downtown Atlanta. What Is Professional Playmakers? Professional Playmakers is GWCCA’s workforce development program designed for local college juniors, seniors, graduate students, and recent graduates who want a real-world look inside the sports and events industry. This hands-on experience connects you with industry professionals, helps you build career-ready skills, and exposes you to the many career paths within sports, events, hospitality, and venue management. 🌟 Top performers may be selected for a paid internship during the FIFA Fan Festival Atlanta at Centennial Olympic Park from June 11–July 15, 2026. Program Experience To successfully complete the program, participants will engage in: 8 weeks of sessions with industry leaders focused on networking, relationship-building, and career insights Topics include sports & event management, marketing, operations, finance, sustainability, and more. Exclusive behind-the-scenes tours of GWCCA venues and campus spaces An Educational Summit featuring experiential learning and industry perspectives Career Readiness Workshops, including résumé reviews, interview prep, and professional development tools to help you stand out Students who excel may advance to the Sports & Major Events Internship during FIFA Fan Festival Atlanta at Centennial Olympic Park—a rare opportunity to gain hands-on experience during a global event. Who Should Apply You’re a great fit if you are: A current undergraduate or graduate student or recent graduate in Sports Management, Event Management, Hospitality, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field Interested in sports, live events, entertainment, or venue operations Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Professional, motivated, and eager to learn and grow Previous event or hospitality experience is a plus—but not required. Requirements
- A current undergraduate or graduate student or recent graduate in Sports Management, Event Management, Hospitality, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related field
- Interested in sports, live events, entertainment, or venue operations
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Professional, motivated, and eager to learn and grow
Nice To Haves
- Previous event or hospitality experience is a plus—but not required.
