About The Position

This position is eligible for a Sign-On Bonus of $2,500 to be paid in two installments: - $ 1,250 within 30 days of your hire date and - $ 1,250 12 months after hire date The Professional Nurse in the Primary Care area within the Nursing Service Unit is responsible for organizing and providing direct patient care for those patients served by Campus Health in the areas of primary care, prevention and public health; applying clinical expertise in the utilization of the nursing process (assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation); recognizing that the scope and complexity of patient’s conditions vary from primary to chronic and routine to acute; and acts as a liaison between the health care provider and patient to promote optimal patient care. The Professional Nurse also implements educational programs, trainings, guideline interpretation and other advanced clinical skills in the areas of specific disease states (asthma, diabetes, gender-affirming care, eating disorders, sexual assault, sports medicine and orthopedics, emergency management, travel medicine). The Professional Nurse provides nursing assessment, evaluation, education and treatment for these specific disease states and acts as a consultant for other clinical staff. The Professional Nurse assists with complex technical/medical procedures, and assists the nursing supervisor in the orientation, supervision, and evaluation of ancillary nursing personnel. This position provides cross-coverage to other clinical areas within Campus Health and the Mini-Clinic as staffing needs require. License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina is required. Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm; with occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays
