About The Position

The objective of the Professional Medical Collector is to assist the Reimbursement Supervisor with the billing and collection process for all MIDC branches. This is a full-time, in-person position at the office located in Burr Ridge, IL. Schedule: Monday- Friday (in-person)

Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
Experience in medical collection practices required
Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters, commonly required for those working with immunocompromised patients, including measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A & B, influenza, and COVID-19.

Nice To Haves

Experience in Microsoft Suite and Outlook Preferred
Allscripts PM Experience a plus
Experience using insurance company portals (Medicare, Availity,etc.) preferred

Responsibilities

Assist Reimbursement Supervisor in collecting intake information, verifying insurance benefits
Provide explanation of charges as necessary to payers and patients
Work denied claims via insurance portals, UHC, Availity, Medicare for multiple states
Follow up with insurance companies and patients on any outstanding balances
Develop mutually agreeable payment schedules with and patients
Provide appropriate documentation with all printed claims, primary EOP, medical records
Review Clearing House for claim rejections / errors, Waystar/Zirmed
Perform re-determinations and appeals as needed via insurance portals
Other duties and tasks as assigned
