About The Position

H2M architects + engineers, a multidisciplinary architectural, engineering, environmental consulting firm, seeks a Professional Land Surveyor. The Successful candidate will be responsible for selecting and applying standard surveying techniques in the field and office to plan, organize, and execute land surveying projects.

Requirements

• Professional Land Surveyor License Required (State of NJ).
• Must have substantial survey experience and strong knowledge of survey calculations, techniques and procedures.
• Minimum 6+ years of experience.
• Demonstrated ability to use sound judgement when making decisions.
• Valid Driver’s license.
• Ability to stand, climb and walk continuously during an 8-hour period.
• Ability to perform strenuous work in a varying climate (heat and cold, etc).
• Must have good computer skills and be able to learn survey related software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge of AutoCad.

Responsibilities

• Receive instructions on specific assignments, objectives and complex features.
• Performs a variety of in-office and field tasks associated with land surveying projects obtained by the company.
• Broad understanding and experience for operating surveying equipment, such as Total Stations, Data Collectors, GPS RTK & Static Observations.
• Accurately calculates and records field data.
• Reviews job specifications and plans fieldwork methods and costs.
• Apply standard scientific/engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations of standard methods and techniques in the field and office.
• Review and download field data.
• Prepare field notes and draw sketches of existing site conditions.
• Prepare detailed daily job reports and discuss projects with supervisor on daily basis.
• Maintain and troubleshoot complex instrumentation.
• Drafting and editing of surveys using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Perform other like duties as assigned.
