About The Position

Forge ahead with WSB. We are seeking Professional Geotechnical Engineer to add to our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating field explorations, performing soil and rock sample logging, conducting engineering calculations and design, and preparing proposals and reports. The role will also involve conducting or assisting with geotechnical field testing, including dynamic cone penetrometer testing, test pit observations, and geophysical and pavement testing . The Geotechnical Engineer will apply sound engineering principles to analyze data, perform calculations, and provide recommendations. Effective communication skills are essential, as the candidate will be required to convey complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical clients and project teams. The projects may involve a range of sectors, including public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial. Requirements

  • Prior experience providing geotechnical engineering services for transportation and/ or commercial projects. Expertise should include foundation/geotechnical designs, subsurface investigation, pavement design and writing geotechnical recommendation reports.
  • Experience with geotechnical analysis and design software such as: gINT, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation. Other software s such as Geoslope, Volflo, Settle3D, WinPass, and others are preferred.
  • Bachelor s degree (BS) in Geotechnical, Civil Engineering field from ABET institution is required.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) required in Oklahoma, Texas or ability to attain within 6 months.
  • Ability to work in the field, when necessary, with occasional travel.

Nice To Haves

  • Master s Degree in Geology, Geological Engineering or Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • Preferred location is Tulsa, Oklahoma but open to all locations within the state of Oklahoma.
  • 5+ years experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain professional working relationships between staff and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with safety rules, guidelines, and standards on all projects, actively participating in pre-task planning and promptly reporting any safety concerns to management.
  • Uphold high-quality standards throughout the execution of projects.
  • Manage and oversee small projects with minimal complexity.
  • Assist in the development of project scopes for routine assignments.
  • Support the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, and other relevant project documentation.
  • Analyze data, perform engineering calculations, and conduct analyses, subject to review by a Professional Engineer.
  • Coordinate and conduct field investigations, laboratory testing, and data evaluation.
  • Develop comprehensive plans, schedules, and detailed phases for assigned project work.
  • Collaborate closely with senior-level project managers and Professional Engineers to gain valuable project management and engineering experience.
  • Provide design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications for review and consideration by the Professional Engineer.
  • Prepare work scopes, proposals, reports, and investigation plans for approval by senior-level professionals.
  • Supervise field staff, including graduate/field engineers, engineering technicians, exploration teams, laboratory personnel, and other necessary support personnel.
  • Engage with clients and project teams to define service scopes and effectively communicate project progress.
