About The Position

The Professional Engineer (PE) is a licensed engineering expert recognized for possessing advanced technical, analytical, and managerial skills. This role involves applying scientific and mathematical principles to design, analyze, and oversee engineering projects across various disciplines—including civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical, or other specialized fields. The Professional Engineer is tasked with ensuring that projects meet the highest safety, quality, and regulatory standards while solving complex engineering problems, mentoring junior personnel, and contributing to continuous process improvements. The designation of “Professional Engineer” not only signifies technical proficiency but also adherence to an ethical code of conduct and accountability to the public, as regulated by state licensing boards.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of engineering principles, coupled with hands-on experience using industry-standard design, simulation, and project management tools.
  • Expertise in analyzing complex systems and developing innovative, cost-effective solutions to engineering challenges.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations, along with a strong commitment to ethical engineering practices and public safety.
  • Ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and succinctly in written reports, presentations, and team discussions.
  • Experience in mentoring junior engineers, leading project teams, and collaborating across interdisciplinary fields to drive project success.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, from design and analysis to execution and documentation.
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Structural Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license as issued by the appropriate state licensing board.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and analyze engineering designs, contributing to all phases of a project—from concept through construction and final evaluation.
  • Use advanced software tools (such as computer aided design, simulation, and modeling platforms) to create detailed schematics, prototypes, and technical drawings.
  • Oversee engineering calculations, process simulations, and performance analyses to ensure that designs meet safety, functionality, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review and approve technical documentation, specifications, and construction plans while ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations affecting engineering projects.
  • Ensure that all work adheres to the ethical and professional standards established by licensing bodies, providing accountability and safeguarding public welfare.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers, architects, project managers, and cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and resolve technical challenges.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical reports, proposals, and presentations clients, regulatory authorities, and senior management.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and interns, fostering professional development and continuous learning within the team.
  • Lead or participate in project meetings, design reviews, and risk assessment sessions to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and scheduling, ensuring that engineering solutions are delivered on time and within financial constraints.
  • Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
