As a Professional Engineer for Roadway, you will be responsible for a variety of projects, taking ownership from start to finish.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Idaho, or ability to obtain within one year of hire
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in roadway transportation engineering
  • Experience working with ACHD, City of Caldwell, the City of Nampa and other Local Agencies within the Treasure Valley
  • Proven experience collaborating on multidisciplinary project teams
  • Strong understanding of AASHTO roadway geometric design criteria
  • Proficiency using Autodesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads civil design software
  • Working knowledge of ITD standards and plan development procedures
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications
  • Demonstrated desire for continued personal and professional growth through project-based experience

Nice To Haves

  • Drainage design and/or traffic engineering experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform the planning, design, and analysis of freeways, interstate highways, interchanges, urban and rural roadways, and shared-use paths under the direction of a Project Manager and/or Senior Roadway Engineer
  • Prepare and contribute to transportation studies, technical memoranda, reports, plans, specifications, and engineer’s cost estimates for a variety of transportation projects
  • Apply AASHTO, DOT, and local agency standards to develop accurate, constructible, and compliant roadway designs
  • Coordinate roadway design elements with drainage, traffic, utilities, structures, and right-of-way disciplines to support integrated project delivery
  • Support the Project Manager in maintaining project scope, budget, schedule, and quality objectives
  • Take responsibility for assigned design tasks and work packages, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards
  • Participate in internal quality control reviews and incorporate QA/QC comments into final deliverables
  • Provide technical input and mentoring support to junior engineers and designers as appropriate
  • Identify design challenges early and communicate potential impacts to the Project Manager and/or Senior Roadway Engineer
  • Maintain organized project files and documentation in accordance with company standards
  • Interface effectively with coworkers across disciplines to promote collaboration and project success
  • Demonstrate professionalism in communications with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders
