About The Position
The Region One Operations Group anticipates hiring a Professional Engineer 1 to work in the Regional Maintenance group as a Regional Transportation Maintenance Program Engineer. Under supervision of the Regional Director of Operation, the successful candidate will be expected to perform some or all of, but not limited to, the following duties: Determine the feasibility of prospective work sites identified by Resident Engineers to be repaired by standby Work Order Contractor. Develop work order packages which include scope of work, details, plans, and estimate to be used in the repair of various highway elements and constructed by the Work Order Contractor. Determine candidates for guide rail replacement contracts. Work with the Regional Geotechnical Engineer to develop a prioritized list of slope repair candidates for the Slope Failure Contract and those sites to be repaired with the Work Order Contract. Represent Highway Maintenance on the Region 1 Large Culvert Committee to develop the Region's capital program for large culvert repair and replacement. Assist Resident Engineers with design related questions as needed. Assist Resident Engineers with small culvert inspection utilizing the Region's Video inspection camera. Represent Region 1 Maintenance on various Community of Practice Committees. Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the Department's response to regional and statewide emergency situations.
