About The Position
The Professional Development Counselor/Trainer at Clear Global Solutions LLC is a full-time position based in Madison, WI, requiring U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a government security clearance. The role involves providing comprehensive career counseling services to military personnel and veterans, assisting them in transitioning to civilian employment. The counselor will be responsible for creating and reviewing resumes, translating military skills into civilian equivalents, and offering application assistance, including guidance on writing effective cover letters and understanding employer expectations. Additionally, the counselor will conduct mock interviews, provide specialized classes, and offer tailored advice based on the specific positions sought by clients. The position also entails connecting participants with available job opportunities and conducting outreach to businesses to establish connections for military personnel. The counselor will encourage businesses to register on the National Guard Employment Network (NGEN) and will research and identify apprenticeship programs available in the state. Collaboration with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) is essential to identify military-ready employers and partner with state and local agencies, such as the Department of Workforce Development and community colleges, to facilitate job placements. The counselor must maintain accurate data files and records to track the program's progress and meet administrative deadlines. Flexibility in the working schedule is crucial, as the role may require an uncommon tour of duty to effectively support military personnel. The contractor will be reimbursed for mileage according to Joint Travel Regulations, although mileage between residence and the primary office is not authorized. This position is vital in helping military personnel navigate their career transitions and achieve their professional goals.
