About The Position

Professional Designer's typically perform professional level branding and design projects, photography, videography, graphic design, web design, and more to design center promotional materials. Students in a Professional Designer IV role perform highly specialized duties and possess a high level of technical skills. They have the ability to work independently and may work with external clients. Professional Designer's typically perform professional level photography, videography, graphic design, web design, motion design or illustration. The work performed is closely related to the student's academic program. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of the job:

Requirements

  • Ability to self-direct projects and manage time without direct instruction; must be organized, reliable and able to follow through on assignments.
  • Ability to perform all assigned tasks and proactively seek input throughout the process, proactively communicating and self-initiating work when needed.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, including a strong command of the English language. Exhibits an eye for detail (including proofreading before submitting work for review).
  • Must be highly organized and understand the importance of consistent file naming conventions, file setup, and asset organization/labeling.
  • Must be knowledgeable with Ringling College graphic and identity standards.
  • Must be dependable and able to work as scheduled with flexibility.

Responsibilities

  • Design promotional materials for the Creative Technologies program.
  • Perform various responsibilities including, but not limited to: photography, design and media production, copywriting, and asset management and file management.
  • Assisting with gathering student work for display and promotional materials
  • Assisting with the installation of displays in designated spaces and at student recruiting events
  • Other duties as assigned.
