About The Position

The School of Allied Health Professions at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans ( LSUHSC -NO) seeks applications from qualified candidates for a full time, 12-month clinical clinician position to serve as a clinician in the Department of Counseling’s Child & Family Counseling Clinic. LSUHSC -NO invites applications for a master’s level (or higher level degree) Licensed Professional Counselor ( LPC ) (or Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, LPC -S) and Registered Play Therapist ( RPT ) or Registered Play Therapist Supervisor ( RPT -S) in the Department of Counseling’s CACREP accredited program’s on site counseling clinic. The successful candidate will maintain an active clinical caseload in the Counseling Department’s Child and Family Counseling Clinic ( CFCC ) and provide services to children ages 2-12 years old. Candidate must have clinical training and preparation as a registered play therapist and a history of providing clinical services to children under the age of 12 years.

Requirements

  • master’s level (or higher level degree)
  • Licensed Professional Counselor ( LPC ) (or Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, LPC -S)
  • Registered Play Therapist ( RPT ) or Registered Play Therapist Supervisor ( RPT -S)
  • clinical training and preparation as a registered play therapist
  • history of providing clinical services to children under the age of 12 years

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an active clinical caseload in the Counseling Department’s Child and Family Counseling Clinic ( CFCC )
  • Provide services to children ages 2-12 years old
