About The Position
Licensed Professional Counselors (LPCs): Looking to further your career with the State of Connecticut? This is an excellent opportunity for you to join us! The State of Connecticut, Department of Correction (DOC) is seeking to fill a position for a highly motivated and experienced licensed Professional Counselor at the Garner Correctional Institution in Newtown, CT. Licensed Professional Counselors within the correctional setting provide a range of clinical and case management functions to those entering the custody of the Department of Correction. The incumbent in this position will discover the opportunity to work within a clinically rich setting, provide intake assessments, individual psychotherapy and group therapy, crisis management, suicide risk assessment, case management services and other clinical activities, and engage in collaborative discharge planning with external support services and research driven programming. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 2:00pm-10:00pm with rotating weekends/holidays.
