About The Position

The Welding Technology Instructor position at High Plains Technology Center involves teaching and developing a competency-based curriculum for both high school and adult students in welding technology. The instructor will engage students in the principles, safety, and technology of welding while also organizing and sponsoring a career technology student organization. This role requires a strong understanding of modern welding tools and equipment, as well as the ability to work extended hours and attend meetings and conferences as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field (preferred) or a High School diploma/GED with a minimum of three years of recent experience in welding technology.
  • Must hold or be willing to pursue a teaching certificate in Trade and Industrial Education program certification areas.
  • Adept in the use of tools and equipment used in the welding industry.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct high school and adult students in welding technology principles and safety.
  • Develop and implement a competency-based curriculum for the Welding Technology program.
  • Organize and sponsor a career technology student organization.
  • Engage students in hands-on learning experiences using modern welding tools and equipment.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and conferences as required.
  • Travel to state and/or national conferences as necessary.
