The position involves providing academic advisement to students regarding the content and structure of postsecondary programs in the Academic Advising and Assistance Center. Responsibilities include assisting students in developing educational plans, choosing programs of study, and clarifying educational goals. The role also requires informing students about alternatives, limitations, and possible consequences of academic decisions such as adding, dropping, or withdrawing from courses, changing programs, majors, or transferring institutions. The advisor must maintain up-to-date knowledge about the College's programs and requirements, collaborate with other departments, and participate in professional development. Additionally, staying current with technology used for advising services is essential, along with performing other duties as assigned.
