Position: Production Worker Location: Newport, TN Rate: starting at $20.36/hr Shift: Swing -1st and 2nd shift) and 3rd shift MUST BE WILLING TO WORK OVERTIME IF NEEDED While reporting to the Supervisor, as the Production Worker for our swing (1st and 2nd shift) and 3rd shift, you will be responsible for collaborating and contributing to the production environment within our manufacturing operations. Safety, quality, productivity, and strong work ethic are important to the Sonoco culture. This position is located at our tubes and cores manufacturing facility in Newport, TN.

Requirements

• You have previous manufacturing experience and/or training
• Read and comprehend standard work instructions, math and measuring
• Arrive to work on time with a strong attendance record
• An individual looking to advance with a high school diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Collaborating closely with departments and plant teams to complete basic manufacturing
• Packs product into boxes retrieves product from equipment and operates machinery
• Making incremental process adjustments, monitor and report quality of manufactured products
• Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to set up new production jobs
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area
• Assists other departments as needed
