Requirements

  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent, a technical certification, a plus
  • Mechanically inclined with experience using basic hand tools
  • Ability to understand written and verbal instructions in English
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, production documents, and engineering drawings
  • Must possess a strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing
  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Visual requirements include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to focus
  • Proficient computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • General knowledge of workplace safety, a plus
  • Experience in operation of forklift and other material handling equipment, a plus

Responsibilities

  • Sort parts from work bins from sheet metal processing equipment
  • Stage WIP for Fabrication work areas
  • Identify the next work order and deliver to appropriate personnel
  • Select work orders on the Factory Scheduler, work orders must be firmed status only and expedited orders take first priority, followed by work orders by date
  • Ensure all needed parts are requested from inventory through the scheduler and the residual parts are pulled from the locations shown on the work order
  • Ensure all parts are verified with the correct part ID and counted to verify the exact quantity as shown on the work order before being brought to the appropriate staging area
  • Picked orders that are sitting for an excessive amount of time, return parts to their primary location and re-firm the associated work order
  • Follow verbal instructions from Production Supervisor
  • Inspect parts, products and machinery for defects
  • Process orders as dictated by the production schedule
  • Operate forklift to assist in material movement including taking out scrap bins, unloading trucks, and putting material away in the proper rack location
  • Fabricate parts using a variety of machines - belt sander, deburring equipment, shear, etc.
  • Assist with loading and unloading machinery
  • Execute all material issues/receipts in the ERP system
  • Contribute significantly to the parts cycle counting program
  • Work at different workstations as job requires
  • Maintain a clean, safe work area
