About The Position

The Production Worker is responsible for proper production flow by producing, handling and packaging high quality meats and sausages, resulting in an acceptable finished product. Responsibilities will follow detail production processes and training.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Customer service and teamwork skills.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to keep up with production pace.
  • Maintain attention to detail on the quality of the product.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems throughout the production run.
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment.
  • Ability to be flexible with work hours, shifts, and weekend schedule.
  • Ability to function in a 5S environment (organizing, cleaning, developing, sustaining a productive work environment)
  • Ability to cross train and work in different sections of production as needed.
  • Must operate production equipment or machinery.
  • Team member will stand for an extended period of time and climb stairs if designated to work at a certain facility.
  • Team Member must be able to see, talk, hear, have manual dexterity with hands and feet, reach with either hands or legs, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Required to lift and/or move up to 30 lbs.
  • Involves routine exposure to extreme temperatures (routinely 30-45 degrees), humidity, and/or noise when working in production.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by listening and communicating effectively.
  • Responsible for following good manufacturing processes in kitchen and packaging areas.
  • Ensure and maintain work area floors are free from debris such as meat, blood, wood, etc.
  • Ensure daily productivity is completed efficiently and in a timely manner.
  • Placing sausage links in Multivac Packer.
  • Move and navigate empty and full trolleys throughout the production area.
  • Remove product from sticks and into sausage cutter; place sausage links in a Multivac packer.
  • Identify sausage that is out of specifications and place in rework bin.
  • Can be possibly rotated to different areas in the packaging department, which may include cutter, before shrink tunnel, metal detector, bypass label area, peeler machine, and peeler table.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations, company policies, and procedures related to team member safety, and quality programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.
