About The Position

The Production Worker / Packaging Operator is responsible for performing two main functions: the bagging operation and the baler operation. This role requires the operator to maintain the ability to perform both functions as determined by the Shift Leads. The operator will operate machinery in a productive manner while adhering to established safety guidelines and procedures. Additionally, the operator will assist other production areas as needed, move and wrap completed products, and will be required to lift up to 50 lbs while standing for a minimum of 7 hours per day. The operator will also assist the Shift Leads in starting and stopping the pellet mills, communicate any moisture or material problems to the Shift Lead, maintain a clean workstation, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.
• Good eye, hand, and foot coordination required.
• Ability to pass company forklift training.
• Ability to read and interpret scales.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills required.
• Ability to perform simple math calculations.

Responsibilities

• Perform bagging and baler operations as required by Shift Leads.
• Operate machinery following safety guidelines and procedures.
• Assist other production areas as needed.
• Move and wrap completed products.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for a minimum of 7 hours per day.
• Assist Shift Leads in starting and stopping pellet mills.
• Communicate moisture or material problems to Shift Lead.
• Maintain a clean workstation.
• Complete Bagger production report accurately.
• Fill pellet sample cups for quality control information.
• Tag pallets with Quality Control information.
• Complete Baler Operator production report accurately.
• Check bale weight and record information on reports.
