About The Position

The Production Worker position at Timco-Tandem in Fontana, CA involves assisting operators in the production of aluminum billet, sheet ingot, or secondary aluminum ingot. The role includes various job classifications such as furnace helper, saw helper, stacker, casting helper, strapper, and other entry-level production positions. The worker will perform general production duties throughout the plant as necessary.

Requirements

• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the direct chill casting of aluminum billet and slab ingot according to instructions.
• Skims impurities from molten metal molds, furnace runners, and boxes using hand-held tools.
• Moves material or finished goods from casting pits to designated locations using cranes.
• Assists in maintenance and cleaning of bag house and associated equipment as needed.
• Prepares tools, coats molds, and runners for casting metal.
• Hauls materials from storage or production areas to furnace production areas as required.
• Assists in skimming the molten metal pump.
• Weighs alloying elements to be added to the furnace.
• Moves materials including un-piling, un-stacking, stacking, and strapping as required.
• Transports materials to scales, weighs, tags, and records transports.
• Prepares finished metal or other material for shipment as required or directed.
• Keeps area and equipment clean and in proper working order.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
• Assists the mold shop by preparing molds.
