Steady growth and expansion ensured Canada operations were strengthened with the purchase of a key facility in the heartland of America. 2nd Shift 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm Job Overview: Under general direction from the Production Supervisor, the Production Worker III (Machine Operator) is responsible for working as part of the blow molding production team to ensure products are manufactured based on specifications. This role both operates and monitors production equipment, such as blow molding machines, pelletizers, shredders, and auxiliary equipment. The Production Worker III also monitors records and communicates critical machine data and information to the Operations Team.

  • Must operate, understand, and transfer knowledge of all machinery and equipment.
  • Must possess mechanical and analytical aptitude.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Must be able to read and communicate verbally in an effective manner.
  • Must have strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, and excellent time management skills.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and team-oriented, with the ability to work in a diverse workplace.
  • Lock-Out/Tag-Out training certification required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in manufacturing plant environment
  • Frequent exposure to manufacturing operations requires the ability to use all necessary safety equipment. Standing, walking, stooping, and bending are frequent and required. Must be able to tolerate repetitive motions for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift to fifty pounds. Ability to stand for at least 8 - 12 hours on concrete surface is required. Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures.

Responsibilities

  • Navigate machine control panels to retrieve necessary machine data and operate equipment to perform starting/stopping of all machines, clearing jams, and minor process adjustments, using Lock-out/Tag-out as required.
  • Monitor production equipment in operation for malfunctions, and report any machine issues to Production Lead II or Supervisor
  • Monitoring machine performance and recording data to be used by the operations team for process control, analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Record data on the process change logs throughout the shift including machine settings, downtime, maintenance activities, QC checks, and machine scrap.
  • Monitor materials used in production equipment and change out as needed.
  • Provide production coverage during break periods.
  • Rotate through all general assembly tasks required in the blow molding process, ensuring product meets the minimum product quality standards, performing process adjustments to maintain quality where necessary.
  • Examine all parts and products to verify conformance to quality standards, including visual inspection.
  • Operate shredders and pelletizers to convert production scrap into reusable form.
  • Classify, weigh, and tag all converted scrap materials.
  • Operates forklifts as needed.
  • Assists with machine material and color changes and performs first article submissions.
  • Conducts minor preventive maintenance tasks such as changing screen packs, filters, lubrication, etc.
  • Participate in sort and rework of non-conformance products, as necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and organized working environment following our 5S standards and ensure safety throughout the plant.
  • Perform other duties as required.
