Position Summary: Follow work order, work instructions/SOPs, perform duties to operate manufacturing machinery, inspect, package final product, and perform backup Lead Operator duties while adhering to Good Manufacturing/Documentation Practices standards. Dept 51 - Molding: Following SAI safety procedures including PPE USE. Apply lean 5s principles. Ability to multitask. Following scrap escalation process. Monitor machine operations and communicate to Lead Molding Operator any materials, machine, or personnel issues. Record production downtime, scrap, rejected materials and output. Ensure no debris on product and air clean carton if dusty. Replenish cartons, paper, wrap and product as needed. Monitor the quality of the product being packaged for proper orientation, correct date on labels. Place product into bags /boxes specified on work order and label appropriately. Pack bags into cartons and apply appropriate label. Inform Lead Molding Operator of material shortages. Perform visual inspections every two hours and fill in the inspection results in the Operator In Process Inspection Log. Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition. Will be trained and in other areas of manufacturing and perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of High School Diploma (or GED equivalent) and or 3 years of experience in a robust role
  • Ability to complete Sunstar Departmental Training matrix and Training Checklist
  • Must be able to read, speak and comprehend written work instructions that are presented in English for the effective performance of the position
  • Good communication skills and detail oriented
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Ability to read and follow SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures)
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions/direction
