About The Position

The Production Worker II is responsible for following all plant safety, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Food Safety rules and regulations. This role includes documentation and paperwork procedures, as well as adhering to verbal and written instructions according to job requirements. The Production Worker II must feed and load packing materials to the production line, verify quality standards, stack cases onto pallets, and maintain good housekeeping for multiple production lines. This position does not have direct reports and requires full-time work at the plant.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • 1 year experience in food processing, bottling, liquid filling/blending, or consumer goods manufacturing/packing preferred.
  • Ability to use common hand tools, weight scale, and thermometer.
  • Continuous mental and visual attention required for duties involving repetitive or diversified work.
  • Basic mathematics skills required.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new job-related software.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy required.
  • Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to perform on-call duty on any shift and work overtime on short notice.
  • Ability to work in high temperatures, at heights, and exposure to strong smells, dust, gases, fumes, and chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties in accordance with Mizkan America safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP, and SOP.
  • Perform manual tasks to support the continuous operation of production lines, including packing, stacking, dumping, and operating case equipment.
  • Maintain supply of caps, bags, boxes, and box parts.
  • Record and count bundles/cases of containers provided to the production line.
  • Communicate container needs with forklift driver.
  • Identify non-conforming product or equipment and report to supervisor.
  • Perform sanitation maintenance on all required equipment.
  • Conduct visual inspections of materials and final products to meet quality requirements.
  • Record data clearly and accurately following production guidelines.
  • Use safety cutters and small hand tools as required.
  • Follow safety rules and maintain a clean work area.
  • Ensure food product quality and safety.
