About The Position

Join the growing team at our world-class train manufacturing facility in Lexington, North Carolina. Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger locomotives and coaches, and light rail vehicles. As a Production Welder I, you will support a broad range of welding, alignment, and assembly activities in a dynamic, high-energy production environment in the fabrication of carbon steel and stainless-steel car bodies for the best rail vehicles in the world. Hours are 2nd Shift: 4:00pm - 2:30am, Monday - Thursday

Requirements

  • High school education or state recognized GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Practical welding test will be required for all candidates to assess skills.
  • General mechanical background.
  • Fully understand manufacturing drawings, able to verify dimensions.
  • Capable of basic written and verbal communication in English.
  • Ability to lift and/or move items up to 40 pounds is required

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of torch and plasma equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize production blueprints, parts lists, sketches, and verbal instructions to execute electronic or manual welding tasks, including standard and repetitive assembly operations.
  • Construct and assemble routine welded units such as subassemblies and mounted parts with precision.
  • Conduct visual inspections and adhere to established quality checks to ensure the highest standards are met.
