This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. Requirements

  • 1-5+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing, or Tube bending
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and the ability to document and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to use precision hand tools, standard mechanical tools, and fabrication shop equipment, also develop fixtures/tooling.
  • Familiar with use of personal computers

Nice To Haves

  • Tube Shop experience or knowledge.
  • Familiarity with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc.) and pressurized system safety.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of 3-D CAD tools (CREO is preferred), and ability to read and interpret GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard.
  • Knowledge of drawing review, scheduling and work order systems, inventory, and various issue tracking systems
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight critical hardware.
  • Machining experience.
  • Crane Operator/Lift Coordinator Experience.

Responsibilities

  • Tube bending and 3D scanning
  • Weld preparation including cutting, blending, chamfering, and cleaning parts.
  • Design support and fabrication of tooling for welding and assembly.
  • Communicate with engineers on design concepts, offering suggestions for improvements to the design.
  • Perform Strip Welding and Installation on Flight Hardware.
  • Review, edit and follow Work Instructions.
  • Safely work within an industrial environment.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
