This is a 2nd shift position focused on performing all position arc welding on a variety of fabricated products and materials. The role involves receiving route cards, prints, and work assignments from a supervisor, reading prints for welding requirements, and setting the proper amperage for the type of material to be welded. The position requires cleaning and preparing items for welding, positioning and assembling material in jigs or fixtures, and performing all position welding while selecting the proper electrode for the specified weld. Additional responsibilities include using a torch for burning or heating, operating automatic and semi-automatic welding equipment, setting up a stud welder, performing air gouging and maintenance welding, and chipping and cleaning welds to apply additional weld passes. Other duties may be assigned as directed.
