About The Position
MISSION: To assemble complex segmented patterns in a dimensionally controlled fixture in preparation for the gating process. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY: General To inspect pattern components and dimensional fixture prior to loading. Pre-inspects pattern and dimensional fixture prior to start of assembly. Reads and follows technique card assembly instructions, which describe numerous unique assembly steps of a complex nature; plans the methods for completing a given assignment and selects among alternative assembly methods. Assembly To accurately assemble complex multi-component patterns to maintain dimensional integrity. Assembles complex multi-component patterns by means of torch, hot pencils, and a variety of hand tools. Assembles complex patterns using full-time dimensional fixturing to maintain dimensional control and stability. Manipulates fixture/pattern components to remove configuration discrepancies and verify dimensional integrity Possibly develops code sheets for engineering-requested modifications or deviations to standard assemblies. Inspects assemblies during and after the assembly process to detect defects and ensure quality.
