About The Position

The Production Utility/General Labor position is responsible for all activities associated with safely operating production machines including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations to meet customer demand. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and quality procedures to ensure that products meet customer expectations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and follow instructions related to quality, safety, and job packets.
• Ability to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or graphic form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.

Nice To Haves

• Prior work experience in the packaging industry; paper, plastics, converting.
• 6 months' experience in some type of manufacturing operation.

Responsibilities

• Work safely at all times and comply with Pratt Industries Safety rules and operating procedures.
• Participate in the Plant Safety Committee.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs) at all times.
• Learn and comply with Pratt Industries quality procedures and policies.
• Perform a variety of tasks in the assigned department, possibly in multiple areas of the plant.
• Maintain good housekeeping and cleanliness of work areas.
• Learn from Machine Operators about machine capabilities and assist in driving efficiencies.
• Cross-train on other machines and learn other positions in the plant.
• Assist with completing necessary reports accurately and timely.
• Switch duties with co-workers as necessary.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures.
• Adhere to the production schedule and be available for overtime as necessary.
