About The Position

As a Production Technology Engineer, you will focus on engineering-related work for additive processes like Laser Powder-Bed-Fusion (LPBF) programming, operation, process/parameter development and assembly technology. This position requires a solid knowledge of engineering principles, production processes and productivity improvements. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university in STEM field (Master’s or PhD preferred)
  • Experience in additive manufacturing, LPBF experience is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of DfAM processes and techniques
  • Hands-on experience operating and maintaining additive equipment
  • Experience with additive manufacturing measurement techniques including part density and tensile measurements
  • Strongly preferred knowledge in control of metal cutting, CNC programming, and additive manufacturing.
  • Proven flexibility with shifting priorities.
  • Strong analytical/problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute the full laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) process from concept to finished part.
  • Develop build strategies, including part orientation, support structures, and parameter optimization.
  • Prepare and validate build files using appropriate additive manufacturing software.
  • Operate LPBF equipment and monitor builds to ensure quality and troubleshoot issues.
  • Perform post-processing steps such as powder removal, heat treatment, and surface finishing.
  • Inspect and measure parts using metrology tools (CMM, laser scanning) to verify dimensional accuracy and quality.
  • Analyze results and document process parameters, outcomes, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Review part designs for manufacturability and provide recommendations for design changes to improve print success.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Stay current with advancements in LPBF technology, materials, and best practices.
