About The Position

The Production Technologist (Operator) works on a shift team of 10-12 other Production Technologists. There are four shift teams. The Production Technologist reports directly to one of four Shift Supervisors. The Shift Supervisors report directly to the Production Supervisor. The Production Technologist has primary responsibility for the safe and on target operation of an area of the plant. The plant is divided into 10-12 job areas that cover both outside operations and inside control system operations. The Production Technologist will be expected to train and qualify on multiple job areas and work one of these job areas during each shift worked.

Requirements

  • Process Technology degree or other related college or vocational training is preferred.
  • Previous experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains HSEQ compliance as the top priority.
  • Follows all AIMS HSEQ policies & practices (ISO 9001, 14001, & 18001).
  • Completes all training assignments on time.
  • Produces products that meet or exceed the specifications and/or expectations of our customers.
  • Actively participates on plant teams such as PSE Reduction, Site Safety/BBS Team, Wellness, PHA's, etc.
  • Actively participates in daily and monthly safety meetings.
  • Operates and monitors the plant to deliver planned production.
  • Follows operating discipline principles, procedures, and practices to ensure safe and efficient operation of the equipment.
  • Operates and field checks process equipment.
  • Monitors process conditions, equipment, and control systems.
  • Performs assigned tasks per Task List (e.g. field checks, equipment preparation for maintenance repair, sample collection, housekeeping, etc.).
  • Ensures operational activities and process performance are aligned with plant/business goals.
  • Supports plant improvement initiatives.
  • Uses troubleshooting skills to resolve process-related deviations and problems.
  • Completes small repairs (small leaks, replace valves, steam traps, etc.) and initiates repair work requests as needed.
  • Uses and/or develops computer skills and participates in procedure writing/verification and other Operating Discipline Management System activities like SAP, work orders, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
