About The Position

The Production Technician role at BASF involves working in the Performance Materials division, focusing on producing blended resin systems for various applications. This position is crucial for ensuring product quality and safety while adapting to a rotating shift schedule. The technician will engage in hands-on production tasks, follow safety protocols, and contribute to a sustainable future in the plastics industry.

Requirements

  • Possess a High School Diploma (2 Year technical degree preferred).
  • Have good communication skills.
  • Have a high level of attention to detail.
  • Able to lift at least 50lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Use product recipes to produce blended resin systems in multiple blend vessels including the PSM process.
  • Have knowledge of raw materials and the hazards associated with them.
  • Use interface screens to the process control system to add exact quantities of chemicals to match product recipes.
  • Follow step-by-step batch instructions and take samples as required.
  • Load drums, totes, cylinders, and tank trucks with the final product.
  • Unload raw materials via rail car to bulk storage and tank trucks to bulk storage tanks.
  • Follow standard operating procedures to unload and check-in various raw materials for production.
  • Be an integral part of the site's safety culture and responsible for safety and housekeeping in certain areas of the plant.
  • Train in Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and understand hazard communication and OSHA requirements.
  • Use personal protective equipment to perform all necessary job functions.
  • Become a certified forklift driver.
