About The Position

As a Production Technician, 2nd Shift, you will support customer production by operating and monitoring established manufacturing processes for advanced magnetic materials, with a focus on safety, quality, and throughput. This role will operate assigned production processes, which may include powder handling, compaction, assembly, coating, inspection, and packaging, following approved work instructions. You will be matched to a subset of these processes based on fit to your skills and experience. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable in a dynamic production environment, and eager to contribute to continuous improvement and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Mechanical, or related field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or technical environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, up to 50 lb.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals
  • Comfortable working with hand tools, diagnostic instruments, and software-based control systems.
  • Ability to work independently, self-direct and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting equipment and workspace cleanliness
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with nanoparticles or nanomaterials in a laboratory and volume manufacturing environment
  • Experience using process development and/or manufacturing equipment in one or more of the following areas:
  • powder metallurgy
  • liquid chemical processes such as etching, plating, precipitation
  • compaction, pressing
  • metal forming & finishing
  • Spray metal coating
  • product assembly & inspection
  • Plating or surface finishing experience
  • Pharmaceutical Powder Processing
  • Familiarity with materials and process analytical techniques

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment to fabricate magnets for customers
  • Perform process development and optimization tasks needed to scale-up experimental activity to volume production
  • Assist with equipment modification, set up, and qualification
  • Care for and clean process equipment and work areas
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering to improve processes and magnet properties.
  • Participate in root cause and corrective action (RCCA) activities to address product and process issues
  • Troubleshoot equipment
  • Execute production tasks according to standard operating procedures and production schedules.
  • Identify process deviations and equipment issues and escalate to Engineering or supervision as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives through feedback, data collection, and participation in improvement activities.
  • Keep accurate and complete records of activities performed and assist the operations team with the generation process documentation needed for high volume manufacturing
  • Create and update process documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, and preventative maintenance procedures
  • Provide training and hands-on guidance to other team members as processes are developed and scaled
  • Accurately complete production records and logbooks.
  • Follow SOPs and work instructions; provide feedback to improve clarity and usability.
  • Support onboarding and peer training on standard production tasks.
  • Maintain a “safety first” mindset, promoting and performing in accordance with Niron’s safety policies and procedures

  • $30.00-40.00/hour for 36 hours/week which is base rate + 10% shift differential. Eligible for standard overtime calculations based on that effective rate
